Once upon a time, somewhere around 2007, a Coolerhead decided to organize a memorial for fellow Coolerheads who had lost an immediate family member in the past year. Each person who lost someone received a Swarovski crystal snowflake from that year. In the years since, a tradition took hold, and the Cooler Crew has given 15 snowflakes to those who have lost.
me2 and ares keep track throughout the year, and around November start asking for donations to cover the costs, which usually run around $40 per snowflake. Either around Christmas time, or at the pre-dig gig, we deliver the snowflakes to the recipients along with a special Cooler Crew poem, as a reminder that those who we've lost aren't forgotten. Feel free to send contributions to the snowflake fund to either of us any time of year.
