Re: 2024 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt Clue #6
The Pyramid on top of the city building downtownThe Old Schmidt Brewery? All VIEW able from???? Prospect Blvd Park, Cherokee?Hidden in something dusty and crusty, looking like trash...?Red Herring ALERT, way too easy....eh? lol
Clue #1
At last it’s time for vexatious rhyme
To goad you to fortune and fun
Here’s a clue: Something old, something new
Off you go! The race has begun
Clue #2
This is the year of the pioneer
An enterprise first of its kind
An event historic we feel euphoric
Like a park hunter grasping the find
It’s the 175th year since that newsman came here
With his press afloat he did embark
He’s got his own county, a majestic bounty
That he’s got in common with the park
Clue #3
The search for gold never gets old
This year, add beer can and gnome
Sincerest flattery or idle chattery?
Our treasure sits atop the loam.
Clue #4
You set out to search, but had to lurch
Because the sunlight has expired
For your hunt to go great, it’s okay to stay out late
If you’re able to get lights wired
Clue #5
A city first, its pride does burst
For St. Paul’s all-woman council
We’ll observe, for the reader we serve
Of their views we’ll be mindful
Clue #6
Seek out a pyramid or even a beer amid
Grasses and bushes and trees
Look a bit dusty? Or downright crusty?
It may hide the prize to seize

Maybe I've fallen into a rabbit hole...
@Rebecca perhaps Off you go is referring to the old Airforce song, something about off you go into the blue.

I am thinking West Side as well. The search for gold, made me think of ProspectingAnd being an old West siderI would go down to Prospect Blvd and watch the Bursts of Fireworks from Harriet Island and the Capital.I would travel up and down the old green stairs by the mushrooms caves, no longer there. Many beautiful stately homes on that street, not sure what prominent folks owned thembut the Views of St. Paul are amazingly beautiful there. They officially call it Prospect Terrace Park and now sits a huge sandstone block rune thing called "The Watcher", hmmmmm? Now to call it a park is a stretch, but it is one, although small and narrow.Over a few blocks we have Prospect Park itself also with great views of St, Paul and has a little more green area, but still quite small.Cherokee has the area, but not the same view of St. Paul. The area of both Prospect Park and Prospect Terrace Park are called RiverVIEW...so we have multiple VIEWS here to be mindful of.Both of these little gems could be searched in an hour or 2 at most. I am way up north or I would have done it already, No snow...so there is NO WAY it is that easy, but hey, its my noodle and Im sticking to it...LOLI'll even put some credits down on dem dare noodles...hehe
