While the prize can only go to one winner, The Allison Wonderland is dedicated to the community spirit of treasure hunting. Here, not only will you find out about the Pre-Dig Gig, the Rehash Bash, and various other social events, but we also discuss the clues here in a team effort to decipher them (albeit not always successfully). This is a place to discuss ideas respectfully, report on what's happening "on the ground", and provide each other with useful information. Pleasant

Fri, 01/24/2025 - 16:06
I am stuck on figuring out what Pleasant mentioned TWICE means.   Pleasant Avenue and trail seem like dead ends, literally   It must mean something

Clue 6 guess

Fri, 01/24/2025 - 16:05
10 for Hidden Falls   I think the dam and the power plant up stream from the park fit clue 6

I was thinking Perry park for a little bit, a lot of the clues line up in Arden Hills and hot and cold is a Katy Perry song.

A lot of the street names work all over the place!

Last nights clue kinda confirmed hidden falls for me

I love this hunt. I have a different group of parks in mind. Before today's clue, I was racking my brain trying to figure out the elements theme.  Every clue can be brought to an element theme.  1:fire and air. 2:land and military units are elements. 3: geometry of yore could be textbook"elements" and shapes. 4: water and land. 5:forces of nature.  6: noble elements (opposite would be reactive elements look up E1 E2).
I'm in Arden hills. I'm bad at anagrams but I know Elmer L Andersen Trail has element in it. Lots of double P words. Could it be a nod to Perry Park? Clue 4 is very similar to the early accessed clue at the Tony Shcmidt hunt "to reap the riches fall can yield the delicacy of a watery field" giving us lake Johanna.
The trail winds through big and small park. It goes down to Hazelnut park which is between triangular roads.  With road names near including new Brighton, noble, edgewater.
I have more because of course I've gone way to far where perhaps I should take words at face value.  If you see a tired lady with 2 kids on the trail today say hi!
And as always Happy Hunting!Jane

Thought I was done...sheeshThe i35 area that this is by is called FORT Rd. & 34th Infantry RED BULL Division Hwy - a double hit on the Army Over Hill and Dale song? Now Im done...
10 Linwood Recreation Center
There is always some HistoryThere is always street namesI am poor searching the History, love looking at streets. ( I have only ever picked a park correctly once early, so take this with a grain of salt, tonights clue will probably blow this to the wind...clue #1 LOL) But Clue #1 city Hill's a Glowin - The city limits are HOT! (The Ken clue is not for this unless...)clue #5 Noodle - The Ken thing pointing to outside areas is a good noodle of past hunts. (Good Noodle there by previous poster)But alternate noodle on Ken and ANEW, the best I can come up with is a NEW park. (But to hope it wont happen again?) Why would I not hope a new park is chosen again?unless its a very unlikely small park that does not cater well to large crowds? Making it tough to get to and - dont do that again PUCK HIDER!??? I think the whole purpose of clue #5 is  A NEW. I think Rose even stated that. So smaller places and smaller parks, Like Newell and Langford, Irvine come to mind. In 1969 the medallion was at I35 and Victoria. Not a park. But very close to Linwood Recreation Area which is along St. Clair and Pleasant. (Pleasant Lot) Where Pleasant Ave. begins is just Over summit HILL area by where DALE (#2) street ends and in that area is KENwood park. (a stretch, but it's literally right there) Just across Pleasant street from Linwood is Pleasant Arena where you can play hockey in COLD OR HOT (#4) weather, where if the puck goes IN and OUT THEY SHOUT #2 at the Arena.SO I looked up History, cuz you gotta have some history and this fits the water and field repurpose of this Mississippi prairie area that was restored. (#4)Linwood Recreation Center

The Summit Hill neighborhood is very fortunate to have the Linwood Community Recreation Center, located at 860 St. Clair Avenue. It is the site of not only many activities for residents of all ages, but also meeting spaces, indoor and outdoor sports and exercise amenities, and a popular playground and park. To learn more about the Center, please visit its webpage at: Linwood Recreation Center for complete information on activities, events, amenities, as well as how to register.

Linwood Recreation Center

Be sure to visit the Sam Morgan Prairie Restoration Site, which is overseen by the Summit Hill Association Environment and Beautification Committee and the City of St. Paul Parks and Recreation Department. It is named after longtime Summit Hill resident and conservationist Samuel H. Morgan, and is a surviving remnant of the native prairies that once flourished on the hillsides and bluffs along the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities. Overlooking the bluffs by the eastern end of the park near Avon Street, this area was rediscovered in the late 1990s and was restored and preserved. It’s an important community asset and another reminder of our heritage in the historic Summit Hill neighborhood.----------------------------------------------------------------------So If Sam Morgan comes up in a clue, or a very close reference to the 1969 site Maybe? And this noodle is complete...this has about a 1% chance btw...lolMike
  Clue #5
When hunters were bidden to where it was hidden
By forces beyond their ken
We got a clue to start things anew
And hope it won't happen again   And the previous clues:   Clue #4
Water and field a refuge did yield
A place to play when cold or hot.
But as changes came they did proclaim
A new use for this pleasant plot   Clue #3
To recognize this year’s prize
Seek not geometry of yore
Would it be found stop looking around
Only the edgy will score

Clue #2
Over hill over dale hit the dusty trail
Better keep rolling along
In and out hear them shout
If you want to belong

Clue #1
Santa Ana’s churning, things are burning
The city hills are glowin’
The beast returns as the hunter yearns
The answer my friend is blowin’

I think Clue #2 is a bit of a red herring... 'better keep rolling along' and 'If you want to be-long' as in have a long hunt.

A few thoughts on central park, Beast= lions shelterGeometry= lions shelter is octagon shaped. Anew= arboretum?In/out, shout= tennis courts, a line judge calls out during a match. Refuge= harriet Alexander nature center
Would be a good place to hide it, 225 acres. A few of these connection are pretty weak, wondering if there will be an anagram like last year, believe clue 7 when people really discovered the link to vento.
