To add to the Harriet Island though, "afloat" could maybe refer to the river.

The blue idea is just a guess. But an old wedding saying goes “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”.
Maybe “here’s a clue” in the very first clue was just alluding to what it’s hidden in
Re: 2024 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt Clue #6
Harriet Island seems too obvious to me. I know they love to lead astray though.
See my comments below.
Clue #1
At last it’s time for vexatious rhyme
To goad you to fortune and fun
Here’s a clue: Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue... A place that hosts weddings - Also...Double entendre maybe- Park was renovated about 15 years ago?
Off you go! The race has begun A place that also hosts 5k's and marathons
Clue #2
This is the year of the pioneer
An enterprise first of its kind
An event historic we feel euphoric
Like a park hunter grasping the find
It’s the 175th year since that newsman came here
With his press afloat he did embark
He’s got his own county, a majestic bounty - Goodhue St. and Goodrich Ave.(RICH = Majestic Bounty - a bit of a reach) - Across the river both streets run East/West and would intersect the park if they continued east across the river
That he’s got in common with the park - Refers to Goodhue. He has his own County- The park has Wabasha (County) Street is next to it
Clue #3
The search for gold never gets old
This year, add beer can and gnome - Someone on the Facebook forum decided to actually add BEER and GNOME together. A= 1 B =2 etc. and came up with 102. There is an address 102 Water St. that is across the street from the park. There used to be a sign that you can see on Google maps that has that number address.. I thought that was an interesting angle - might be a reach or wishful thinking but a great noodle IMO.
Sincerest flattery or idle chattery? - General Flats area
Our treasure sits atop the loam.
Clue #4
You set out to search, but had to lurch
Because the sunlight has expired - This means West to me - West side of the Mississippi
For your hunt to go great, it’s okay to stay out late Park closes at 11pm which is later than any other Park that I researched
If you’re able to get lights wired - Many of the lights along the sidewalks within the park have wires sticking out of them - it looks like they are being worked on.
Clue #5
A city first, its pride does burst - Located with in the City limits of St. Paul
For St. Paul’s all-woman council
We’ll observe, for the reader we serve
Of their views we’ll be mindful - When I see the word View I generally think of Fairview. In this case though and it might be a reach but Harriet Island is located in RIVERVIEW neighborhood.
Clue #6
Seek out a pyramid or even a beer amid - You can see DT there's a building with a Pyramid on the top also you can see the Schmidt Brewery from there.
Grasses and bushes and trees
Look a bit dusty? Or downright crusty? - Small Pizza Box? Donut Bag like Dunkin Donuts?
It may hide the prize to seize
