Bitter cold arrives in St. Paul for the Winter Carnival’s final weekend. Forecasters say temperatures might not get above zero all weekend. Carnival organizers decided to shorten Saturday’s Torchlight Parade for the first time since 1996 and may cancel it.

BUNDLE UP

Torchlight Parade – 6 p.m. Saturday. Fireworks at 7:45 p.m., downtown St. Paul.

Dog Sled Rally – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Harriet Island.

Softball on Ice – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Lake McCarron, Roseville.

WARM UP

Minnesota Hot Dish Tent – Duck in and out of this Harriet Island warming house. Food, drinks, displays and entertainment.

FUN INDOORS

James J. Hill House – Tour the Summit Avenue mansion of a big carnival booster.

Circus Juventas – Shows Saturday and Sunday in the Highland Park big top.

Winter Soul Celebration – Noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hallie Q. Brown Center, St. Paul.
