The 2013 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt will begin Sunday, Jan. 20, with the first clue published in that day’s edition.
The clue will appear both in the paper’s print edition, which can be bought at 11 p.m. the night before, or online, at midnight.
An additional clue will be published each day thereafter, until the 12th and final clue is published on Thursday, Jan. 31, or until the Treasure Hunt medallion is found.
The Treasure Hunt, a tradition since 1952, is held in conjunction with the St. Paul Winter Carnival.
The prize for successfully finding the medallion is up to $10,000. Winners automatically win $2,500 for the medallion; an additional $2,500 for bringing in all the published daily clues, clipped or copied from the Pioneer Press or printed from TwinCities.com; and an additional $5,000 if the finder is a registered Winter Carnival button owner.
The Treasure Hunt is again sponsored by Fury Motors.
The Winter Carnival runs from Jan. 24-Feb. 3.
