Cassie Lukin of Maplewood, won a slot on the St. Paul Bouncing Team, just in time for today’s Winter Carnival Torchlight Parade, at Friday’s bouncing girl tryouts at Landmark Center in St. Paul. Thirteen women auditioned for the coveted spot — one of three plus an alternate for the athletic association. The Winter Carnival is arguably the Bouncing Team’s biggest event, and “bouncing” has taken place almost every year since the carnival began in 1886, according to the team’s website.
