2023 Shamrock Medallion recap

If you go back to the start of clue number two, it states, all you have to be is smarter than me!!

Well shortly after the release of the third clue, Anne and Johan Miller found out they were.

During the first couple clues, the Millers were led to Tiger Park, the Downtown Area around the new Coffee shop, the new parking lot area, the Library and even the new skating rink.

When the third clue was released the one clue that brought the Millers to Prairie Park was, I’m in awe is that the Claw. The Claw is a reference to the Professional Wrestler named Baron Von Raschke. The Claw was Baron Von Raschke’s nickname. Years ago when the Millers owned Johans Bar they had a Professional wrestling Card in Belle Plaine and set the wrestling ring on the softball field. Barron Von Raschke’s match was the main event. A very well attended event. What jogged Johans memory about the Claw was all of the wrestlers came up to the bars that night. They hated each other and almost killed each other in the ring and a couple hours later they were up in the bars buying each other drinks.

Other clues that got them there was chain link, as the medallion was found on a chain link ladder on the old playground equipment by the softball field. The old and new references, there is old and new playground equipment in Prairie Park.

Other key clues; my theme was the word soft. Puffy as a cloud, mousse, whipped cream, baby kittens and warm woolen mittens, chiffon, silk and satin, mashed potatos are all soft things.

Walk for an hour, a league is an old measure of distance, how far you can walk in an hour, explains how far a league is. There are bowling and softball leagues there.

Lots of references to children and playgrounds. Under the Belle, the word Belle is in the Belle Plaine logo thats on the water tower. Logo by Stone was a reference to the Belle Plaine Logo thats on the water tower. This Belle Plaine Logo was designed by Belle Plaines very own Teresa Albrect-Stone.

I could go on, but I don’t want to give up all my secrets. Hats off to the Millers for finding this years Shamrock Medallion. Over the years, the Millers as a family have found 11 total medallions. Unless you can prove me wrong, I think they are the All-Time leaders for the most medallions found.

Next Medallion hunt starts in late June. Thank you to all who participated in the hunt.

The wee people of this fine town, invite you to the wearing of the Green,
Clans of Irish heritage or those who may want to be, celebrate an event we call St. Patrick’s Day.

In this spot, in case you forgot, hides a medallion,
The wee people we are, Irish by far, it ain’t Italian.

Mother may I, identify, the new and the old,
Puffy as a cloud, I am so proud, its starting to unfold.

Walk for an hour, time to scour, bada-bing,
Against the clock, ride, don’t walk, so here I cling.

Learn and grow, to and fro, cut to the chase,
feeling kind of woozy, this is a doozy, set the pace.

An amazing stunt, the treasure is in the hunt, be your own hero,
take the risk or lose the chance, get to ground zero.

It’s part of our history, unraveling the mystery, affirmatory,
High degree angles, not the new fangled, bask in the glory.

Bunny rabbits and silly habits, are those goal posts?
Today is your day, so get on your way, no joy in almost.

Mousse on the loose, duck, duck goose, our annual March shindig,
A need to bamboozle, don’t need your approval, zag and zig.

All you have to be is smarter than me, clue number two,
How hard can it be, you have to agree, you are over due.

Caught in the end zone, I feel so alone, I think that’s two,
Face your fears, have some beers, kind of a who’s who.

Set your goals, cover the holes. When nothing goes right, go left.
Old and new, what do I choose? More to heft.

Topped with whipped cream, living the dream, rise and shine,
Rule of thumb, kind of hum drum, fruit of the vine.

What do I win? Give me some skin, rags to riches.
A need to drop off, for that I will scoff, stay between the ditches.

Baby kittens and warm woolen mittens, hither and yon,
Champ at the bit, do not quit until I’m gone.

Do your duty, she’s a beauty, Miss Shamrock I mean,
Place your order, near the border, hail to our Queen.

As I ramble on, wear the chiffon, stick to the skit,
Take a chill pill, King of the Hill, can you dig it?

Teddy bears and snowshoe hares and ankle biters,
Find your groove, bust a move, don’t blame the writers.

Swings and slides, something that hides, a few days to go,
Chain links and tiddly winks, focus on the flow.

Enjoy your freedoms, thank a Vet, fill the coffer,
Inaugural, pedestal, an introductory offer.

I’m in awe, is that The Claw? Right down memory lane,
What’s so amazing that keeps us stargazing, no pain, no gain.

One hundred bucks to show, it ain’t play-doe!
Not to far, how bazaar, from a long time ago.

The Dixie Canyon Treaty, eat your Wheaties, don’t fit in, stand out!
Erin go Braugh, I’m in awe, I’m ready for the bout.

Silk and satin, hatches to batten, Booyah!
Under the Belle, here for a spell, this ain’t no spa.

Ground floors and dinosaurs, the darling buds of May,
Grasp the nettle, do not settle, show me the way.

A freshly fallen snow, do the mash potato, the Great Unknown,
Crannies and nooks, lots of hooks, you’re in the zone.

Black powder, let’s get a little louder, look forward with hope.
Leave your car and walk from here, like walking a tightrope.

Logo by Stone, who would have know, I’m on cloud nine,
Pester power, your finest hour, give me a sign
