2023 Shamrock Medallion recap
If you go back to the start of clue number two, it states, all you have to be is smarter than me!!
Well shortly after the release of the third clue, Anne and Johan Miller found out they were.
During the first couple clues, the Millers were led to Tiger Park, the Downtown Area around the new Coffee shop, the new parking lot area, the Library and even the new skating rink.
When the third clue was released the one clue that brought the Millers to Prairie Park was, I’m in awe is that the Claw. The Claw is a reference to the Professional Wrestler named Baron Von Raschke. The Claw was Baron Von Raschke’s nickname. Years ago when the Millers owned Johans Bar they had a Professional wrestling Card in Belle Plaine and set the wrestling ring on the softball field. Barron Von Raschke’s match was the main event. A very well attended event. What jogged Johans memory about the Claw was all of the wrestlers came up to the bars that night. They hated each other and almost killed each other in the ring and a couple hours later they were up in the bars buying each other drinks.
Other clues that got them there was chain link, as the medallion was found on a chain link ladder on the old playground equipment by the softball field. The old and new references, there is old and new playground equipment in Prairie Park.
Other key clues; my theme was the word soft. Puffy as a cloud, mousse, whipped cream, baby kittens and warm woolen mittens, chiffon, silk and satin, mashed potatos are all soft things.
Walk for an hour, a league is an old measure of distance, how far you can walk in an hour, explains how far a league is. There are bowling and softball leagues there.
Lots of references to children and playgrounds. Under the Belle, the word Belle is in the Belle Plaine logo thats on the water tower. Logo by Stone was a reference to the Belle Plaine Logo thats on the water tower. This Belle Plaine Logo was designed by Belle Plaines very own Teresa Albrect-Stone.
I could go on, but I don’t want to give up all my secrets. Hats off to the Millers for finding this years Shamrock Medallion. Over the years, the Millers as a family have found 11 total medallions. Unless you can prove me wrong, I think they are the All-Time leaders for the most medallions found.
Next Medallion hunt starts in late June. Thank you to all who participated in the hunt.
