The fancy cape and the hat have been just handed out,
To this year’s Marquis we can all give a shout;
Years of commitment at Cardinal Little League Park,
In his civic involvement Scott Latta sets the mark.
Explanation:
Simply a shout out to this years Marquis, it was actually just a coincidence that Cardinal Little League Park is in Riverview Park. You don't think I would make it that easy?

Go ahead test the water just three dollars is the fee;
On city property it’s hidden sometimes high, sometimes low,
Once uncovered the medallion shiny gold it will glow.

Rocky reminding you to pick up your Snowflake Days button, first reference to water, and the fact the medallion is colored gold.

We are all creatures of habit, some follow, some lead,
Persistence can payoff if you plant a positive seed;
Away from the dales, the trees and the plant,
Keep from your mind all those thoughts that say can’t.
Explanation:
This clue is directional in nature, away from Northdale and Riverdale, not in the streets named for trees or flowers.

Streets and some Lanes, and even some Drives,
Just when you have given up “hope” it arrives;
Catching your breath as you juggle the clues,
Between Boulevards are Circles and some Avenues.
Explanation:
The main line in here is between boulevards, CR Boulevard and Mississippi Blvd-- Hanson Blvd and Crooked Lake Blvd. There are many city owned properties which may fit this but it would narrow the spots.

Forget all the rumors, skype or the twittering tweet,
Stay on the path, it could be right there at your feet;
Chances are a showy bulb will go off after all,
Possibly the one that was named for this man we recall.
Explanation:
This clue is in reference to Dahlia Park and the Dahlia Trail that runs over to Riverview Park. Dahlia is defined as a showy bulb discovered and named for Anders Dahl a Swedish Botanist. We all new that right!

Dashing around will get you nowhere fast,
The place that you find it will surely be the last;
Somewhat deceptive and obscure sound the clues,
In gauging the rhymes the feathered friends you should choose.
Explanation:
My mom used to tell me it would be in the last place I look, I had to do it. Of course the feathered friends clue is to the bird streets grid in our city.

The look is not quite what it says in the name,
A large form of mice once excelled at this game;
Its color resembled the monster before it was razed,
Let’s win one for Paul, we remember and praised.
Explanation:
This clue is all about the past/history. First line references Riverview although you really can't see it from there.
Line 2 is about the River Rats a local softball team from the 70's. The Monster recalls the original Little League Park with the high dark green fence from the 60's that was torn down when the new complex was built. Finally not Wellstone but in memory of our friend Paul Perez a fixture at Riverview Park and the CR National/Cardinal Little League.

Some searchers have been known in their quest to get nervous,
But that can’t be said of the Womens Royal Navy Service;
We can agree that Dubnium gives us a clue,
When factored together your area options are few.
Explanation:
WRENS was the nickname for the service group in England. Wren St. and Dubnium is the 105th atomic number (artificial element) 105th Ave.

Down in the roofless flats, just up from the bank,
Three billion of these are the capacity rank;
Twenty four is the number that perform all the work,
Up to 700 is the distance that sometimes they may lurk.
Explanation:
First line reference to Riverview Terrace. Next three are all about the city water system and treatment plant. 3 billion gallons used a year, twenty four wells, and 700' the max depth.

Water is a key to this year’s travels through rhyme,
Some clues in the current, others way back in time;
Wearing some long johns out in the cold would be nice,
Seems only appropriate the circular medal is frozen in ice.
Explanation:
Another reference to water and the form the medallion could be found in.

Suddenly Rocky Raccoon comes down from the crest,
Wearing his goggles and a bright colored vest;
You would think that our hero has never been on skis,
He tumbles and rolls and then lands flat on his knees.
(not on his rear L.L.)
Explanation:
This is all about the sliding hill up in the Riverview Reservior Park as many of us oldtimers call it.

The second day clue would have put you across from the mark,
But the question comes up,” Is it part of the park?”
A form of WSUD appears somewhat out of the blue,
Just a field lengths walk from the fluoride based brew;
Explanation:
WSUD stands for Water Sensitive Urban Design and references things like wetlands, water supply/usage/treatment like fluoridation done in the plant next door.
