Don't forget to check out some of Champlin's landmarks.

Even with all the cancellations, the medallion hunt will be fine.

The first Father Hennepin Festival was celebrated in 1929
and a marker was placed to memorialize the historic river crossing.
The Bicentennial Committee in 1976, brought back the festival to its original shine.
There was even a parade with a lot of candy tossing.

Since that time, the festival has been made even bigger and better.
With big bands, fun rides, great food, and always good weather.
The best part of all is the fireworks show.
Even though we'll miss it this year, next year it'll be back, we know.

Summer is a busy time in this City of ours
Everyone from the Clerks to the Public Works Crew
is working hard and putting in long hours.
While you're out hunting be sure to give a wave or two.

Soon there'll be soccer and softball and playing in parks
and fireworks filling up the skies with their sparks.
Visiting with friends and family that we haven't seen in a while
But finding me would surely bring the best smile.

By now I am sure that you're in the right park.
You've crossed the right bridge and are looking for the mark.
Whether biking or hiking you've got to be near
hurry up and find me so we can all give a cheer.

Two parks so close did you pick the right one?
You've got to move quickly so you're not outdone.
There's a shelter nearby if you need a quick rest.
Will you be the one to complete the quest?

Bonus Clue at 1pm

Today is the day, so let's get to work.
Find the park named for our first City Clerk.
There's no time to wait,
get moving, don't be late.

Come take a seat and enjoy the great view.
Look towards the water for a second or two.
Now get back to searching, you are so close.
Can you smell the $500 right under your nose?

Today's the last clue, I've got to be found.
Let's make it clear, I'm sitting on the ground.
Near the spot where fireworks used to be sent into the sky.
Now it's a great place to see them with your eyes.

Find the bench that looks northeast,
then walk toward the water a few feet at least.
Stop at the tree and take a look down,
you'll have to move some leaves around.
