As you wander through the parks
We don’t want you in the dark
Don’t do damage in any way
As that behavior will NEVER pay

Tools you must just leave at home
As our hunt won’t involve a gnome
Rakes, shovels, and all of your stuff
Don’t Bring them out as things would get rough
Explanation:
Lays the general ground rules for the hunt, telling hunters tools will not be needed and there is no need to damage any property in order to find the medallion and also hints that the treasure was hidden in a park.

Two ways to leave are an important measure
And choosing one will lead to the treasure
It’s tough to say is it right or left
It all depends on where your car is kept
Explanation:
Makes reference to the 5th Ave. - 7th Ave. exit off of 494 and you would have to choose the 7th Ave. exit to get to the treasure site. Whether to turn right or left on to 7th would depend on what direction you came from.

A cutting edge movie's leading man
His name was here on the 1887 plan
And adding houses lends to the game
Though spelled different, sound the same
Explanation:
D. B Sweeney was the lead actor in the 90’s movie, “The Cutting Edge”. Spruce Street was originally named Sweeney Street when this property was platted in 1887. It was part of the “Hauses Addition” which sounds like houses.

A popular place in our fair city
Without you here, it's sitting pretty
Near a tree when in the right space
To the North, you should start to pace

We will keep our game above the rim
But your chances here are very slim
Find a place for children to play around
And colorful, dancing flowers are found
Explanation:
The word popular combined with “without you” gives you the name Poplar. Poplar is a kind of tree and Poplar Street is south of Spruce Park. Mentions the playground and half basketball court within the park and hints at the fact that the basketball hoop is missing it’s rim. It also mentions the nearby garage with colorful flowers painted on it’s wall.

Lots to learn, now get down and dirty
Explanation:
Spruce Park is about 1 acre in size and is made up of lots 23 through 30 of Block 10 in the Hauses Addition. It also hints that the medallion was hidden on the ground and that you may need to get dirty to find it.
