2024 Frozen Fun Fest Medallion Hunt Rules
-The medallion is hidden in one of the 14 Mendota Heights City-owned public parks.
-Please preserve the City's park amenities and natural resources while searching.
-The medallion is not hidden in the following areas: do not search at the following:
Any natural, unmanicured areas
Mendota Heights Par 3 Community Golf Course
Oȟéyawahe/Historic Pilot Knob Preservation
The off-leash Dog Park on Acacia Boulevard
The Sibley Athletic Complex
Any City buildings/building properties including Public Works, the Fire Department, and City Hall/Police Department.
Near any body of water or embankment
At a height where climbing might be involved, such as in a tree or on top of recreation equipment, light posts, etc.
More than five feet off any trail or within any natural areas (forestland, prairie, tall vegetation, etc.)
Under the ground/soil
-The medallion is NOT located inside any park buildings, such as warming houses.
-The medallion is NOT located under any surface that requires picking at or digging a surface.
-Searchers must not damage public property or otherwise violate laws or ordinances. Do not disassemble items such as irrigation heads, light fixtures, and other equipment; the medallion is not hidden in these items. The use of tobacco or electronic cigarettes is not permitted in City parks; dogs must be kept on leashes of six feet or less per City Code, and pet waste must be picked up.
-Searchers must adhere to City Park hours: parks are open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
-City of Mendota Heights employees or family members of said employees are not eligible to win. Family members are defined as parents, children, or siblings.
-Please read the full document of rules below.
-Discovery of the medallion must be reported immediately by calling 952-495-7909.
-Searchers assume all risk for personal injury.
-The winner may be asked to sign a photo release form for publicity or promotional purposes.
-If the medallion is not found by February 13 at 9 a.m. the hunt will terminate.

In the scorching heat of summer, our parks remain green,
Be sure to keep that in mind when searching with your team.
Explanation:
"third annual hunt" - Gives the theme of '3" for the third Frozen fun Fest and Medallion Hunt
"Amongst the trees in a park with delight" = A reminder that the medallion is hidden in a Mendota Heights park.
"our parks remain green" = Kensington Park is 1 of 3 parks that has irrigation, the fields do not turn brown in the summer, eluding to some of our parks remaining green.

Where no shadows dance and daylight celebrates.
Explanation:
"3 of its kind, sitting so small" = 3 lower case n's in Kensington
"Three musketeers" = keeping the theme of three
"Where no shadows dance and daylight celebrates" = keeping the theme of letting people know it is in a park, somewhere without trees or other large objects that create shadows but where the sun can also shine bright in the open space at Kensington.

The medallion rests where water is not seen.

"path weaves" = There is a walking path that runs through Kensington
"Though it suggests, there is no bridge to cross" = one road leading to Kensington is "Stockbridge"
"rests where water is not seen" = The medallion is somewhere in the park where people aren't able to see any bodies of water nearby.

Seek this place that is most east.
Explanation:
"laughter’s the sound" = refers to kids enjoying their time playing on the playground.
"A small lot" = Kensington has a small parking lot that has made it a hard park to hose large tournaments at the park
"No abundance of shadows" = when the sun sets, there are no large shadows created where the medallion lays
"Seek this place that is most east" = Kensington is one of the eastern most parks Mendota Heights owns.

The medallion awaits in a park where grapes align.
Explanation:
"Where loons could dance" = the Minnesota Loons, MLS club Minnesota United, practice on soccer fields, Kensington is the only park with soccer fields.
"grapevines", "vines entwine" and "grapes align" = clues to Concord Blvd., referring to Concord Grapes, being a road that leads to Kensington.
