Hunters, welcome one welcome all
to this hunt sponsored by the Croatian Hall
search SSP for what you desire

A park with little space
but for sports it's the place
created by a man with a playground empire
Explanation:
Welcome to the Parks and Rec Trail Walk Treasure Hunt. We would like to thank the Croatian Hall for being a sponsor for this hunt. Please search parks in the South St. Paul city limit.

Harmon Park is one of the smallest parks but has three different sporting options there. William E. Harmon was an Ohio-born real estate agent who lived most of his life in New York, where he formed the Foundation that financially supported the development of an estimated 120 to 150 parks and recreational facilities across the United States.

Run the bases like Hank
don't draw a blank
in this area surrounded by chestnuts and spruce.

Maybe you enjoy puck,
but racquets could bring you luck
will this lead you to where treasure is loose?
Explanation:
We mention the softball field at Harmon Park, and we give three street names that should lead you to the park. "Hank" as in Hank "Henry" Aaron for Henry St. Chestnut St. and Spruce St. also run into and around Harmon.

We have also now mentioned the two other sports that can be played at Harmon with the tennis courts and the outdoor hockey rink. The idea is to get you to wonder if you are in the correct area by spreading people out looking by all the sports areas across the park.

One of four, this one's at our city's back door
some may know its brother park to the west

Nevertheless, SSP is still the best
so search for a Packer fast-pitch softball
Explanation:
"One of four" South St. Paul's Harmon Park joins parks of the same name in Pipestone, West St. Paul, and Worthington, Minnesota, who benefited from park development funding sponsored by the Harmon Foundation Playgrounds in America program.

This is also alluding that the ball field isn't regular baseball, but is the SSP Girls softball field which is located at Harmon Park. The medallion is secured to half a softball hidden in the park.

*BONUS* There is a hidden clue within the first three clues up to this point. If you take the first capital letter in each stanza, it spells out HARMON clues 4 & 5 spell out PARK. "HARMON PARK".

Please don't fret if you haven't made it here yet
the south side of town is where you should look.

Amongst the trees, the treasure you will seize
tucked back in a wooded nook.
Explanation:
We have now eliminated any parks on the north side of town, and you should search on the south side.

The medallion is hidden in the wooded area tucked back in a nook of Harmon Park and not by any sporting area.

Ready, set go! A small opening will show
the path you want to embark.

Keep your eyes to the ground
in the southeast woods it will be found
at the base of a tree in Harmon Park
Explanation:
The medallion's hiding spot can easily be accessed through a small opening in the trees and brush on the southeast corner of the park in the woods. The tree is right to the left as you walk in the opening, and the medallion is covered by sticks and brush at the base of this tree.
