Now number at four
Hermantown, Proctor, Superior and Duluth
Are where you will score

Be sure to peruse
The field of clues
The ones you can use
For those mid-winter blues
Explanation:
First line of clue three reminds you to look over all the clues. “Field” is the keyword here. With the first three clues, we received word that several people were already searching in and around baseball and softball fields around the Twin Ports. including at Keene Creek Park in Hermantown

The first picture provided
Resides on our site
Make sure you look closely
So you see it right
Explanation:
The first visual posted at www.twinportswinterfest.com. It was a picture taken of the treetops next to where the medallion was hidden – not necessarily the exact tree where the medallion was hidden

If you’re thalassophobic
This much you should know
The medallion is far
From what you fear most
Explanation:
Thalassophobia is defined as an intense and persistent fear of the sea or large body of water. In other words, you will not find the medallion near Lake Superior – eliminating some of the lakeside parks or areas close to the lake.

If the dog days of summer
Seem way too far off
Get into the hunt
And follow the law
Explanation:
Another reference to the sign at Keene Creek Park. This park – like the one in West Duluth, is a popular spot for walking your dog. It was designed to create a little confusion between the two parks

In a fit turnaround
We bring you this clue
The medallion’s nearby
Just waiting for you
Explanation:
“Turnaround” was the keyword here. “Fit” had nothing to do with it. Turnaround was significant of the parking lot designed to be a turnaround area for cars. The keyword also was a hint to the u-shaped path near where the medallion was hidden.

We’ve provided a visual
Look at it online
Is there something familiar
That will help you this time?
Explanation:
We drew that diagram on paintbrush. It is a close duplicate of an aerial view of the park – minus the satellite images and roads. Lots of people equated it with a hockey stick and puck, golf club and ball, etc…

Here’s clue 13
We need to assert
It lies south of the namesake
Of a guy who makes shirts
Explanation:
We discovered Morris Thomas on line as the maker/distributor of high end men’s shirts. www.morristhomas.com . Keene Creek Park lies directly south of Morris Thomas Road. No idea whether the Morris Thomas shirt maker in the Twin Cities is the same guy.

There’s a line that I know
From Led’s famous song
It’s line number eight
That will help you along
Explanation:
Line eight in Stairway to Heaven from Led Zeppelin came to mind while hiding the disc. IN A TREE BY THE BROOK, THERE’S A SONGBIRD WHO SINGS. The medallion was placed between two small, bent-over trees about a foot or two off the ground – about 20 to 30 feet from Keene Creek. Here’s a picture before we covered it with some snow and sticks. It should be noted that the medallion must have been dislodged and fell to the ground with people searching, because it was found just behind the base of those trees buried in snow. The singing songbird was never an important part of the clue

Drive in from the north
Then veer to the east
The medallion’s beyond
Where the trees and field meet
Explanation:
This is significant of the park’s driveway that clearly veers east. The medallion was hidden in the wooden area adjacent to the long field that is next to the ball field.

The road you drive in
Will just wind up dead
The prize is well-hidden
Due north of the shed
Explanation:
This was the final clue posted that lead to the medallion’s hiding place. There is a building that resides next to the ball field. The finders of the medallion say the disc used their smart phone compasses to walk a straight line north almost exactly to where the disc was lying. We had no idea it was almost exactly north.
