Welcome to Winterfest’s
Sixth Annual Event
The medallion’s been hidden
First clue has been sent
Explanation:
Keyword here is "sixth". The opening trail to the medallion is just off the sixth bridge. When counting, it appears it is the seventh bridge – but the bridge closest to Superior Street was not one of the original bridges constructed by Sam Snively.

Pull on your boots
For a very long walk
And when you get close
We’ll most certainly talk
Explanation:
With road closures at both ends of Seven Bridges Road at the North and South, there really is no alternative but to walk unless you bring your snowmobile.

A view of the lake?
Not necessarily the case
Think outside the box
To find the right place
Explanation:
Just down the path was the Lakeview Sports Area. Most of the area (except on the hill) has no view of the lake.

It’s still early on
But to give you a start
You’ll head north, then head south
Before you get smart
Explanation:
This is a reference to the classic TV show Get Smart. If you are heading to where the medallion is from the southern part of Seven Bridges Road – you will need to veer South momentarily before getting to Maxwell Avenue. "Maxwell Smart" was the main character of the show starring Don Adams and the movie starring Steve Carrell. As it turns out, you would actually be heading East and then North. Admittedly, the cluemeister got a little twisted around in his direction.

Don’t go in the water
Sink your teeth in the rules
Use only when dry
This game’s not for fools
Explanation:
The first two lines were intended to get you to think about the movie Jaws. The Steven Spielberg movie and book by Peter Benchley is based on the famous shark near "Amity" Island. Amity Creek and Amity Park are very close to where the medallion was hidden. Meanwhile the third line is a reference to the multi-use trail system where signage and park rules prohibit you from using the trail when it is wet.

They say you’re being watched
We’re not sure this is true
Just in case, slide on by
Cause that’s what we do
Explanation:
There are signs at the Lakeview Sports Area that indicate security cameras are on and recording your activities. Also the hill nearby was/is a popular destination for snow tubing and sliding – although some signage indicates that it is no longer allowed.

If you’re still in the dark
We don’t mean to pester
Set your sights to the east
In a place we call Lester
Explanation:
Although we are fairly certain the medallion is actually hidden in Amity Park, we were confident this clue would get more people in the right area by mentioning the more popular Lester Park.

If you’re adept at multi-tasking
We’ve got some happy news
The puck’s nearby – and since you’re asking
Pay attention to all the clues
Explanation:
There were two points to this clue. "Multi-tasking" is a reference to the "Multi-use" trail the medallion was hidden on. "Happy" news was a loose reference to what has become known as the "Smiley Rock" – a graffiti marked boulder along Amity Creek near bridge six that simply says "smile".

At the head of the trail
Grows just off to the right
Keep hiking and smiling

Walk three hundred fifty four paces
Get out and start looking now
The Winterfest Medallion’s lying
Draped ‘neath a balsam’s bow

Three hundred fifty four paces
From the road up to the prize
At least that’s what we counted
Give or take a few strides
Explanation:
This two-part clue tells you where exactly the medallion was hidden from the main road new bridge six – using the cluemeister's paces. The trick was staying on the right path. It also mentions what kind of tree to look for and how the medallion was hidden.
