By immersing yourself in a medallion hunt that’s full of flare.
The one way to win is to get out into the sun
And make a thorough examination of good ole White Bear.

Wouldn’t it be nice to finally take home a slice
Of the prize money of which we yearly pitch?
To do so, two large rocks you must splice
For the clear disc is the meat in that stony sandwich.
Explanation:
“One way” pointed to a one-way street sign visible from the hiding site. “Pitch” hinted at the ball fields found at Central Middle School & North Campus High School. The last two lines spoke of the medallion, glued between rocks.

“Something old and new” and “landmark” referred to the actual school, one of the oldest structures in White Bear Lake. A new addition was added to the school and could be seen from the site.

The first stanza was in reference to the circular North Campus High School, home to 9th and 10th graders. The second stanza pointed to the medallion being wedged between two rocks but also to the middle school.

Now a fourth letter connection reveals a chilly site.
Explanation:
“An African beast” and “hungry, hungry” referred to a Hippo (as in the game Hungry, Hungry Hippos). The “true home of any Catholic priest” is Rome. Put the two words together with the letter D (“fourth letter”) and you arrive at hippo-d-rome, a “chilly” site. The White Bear Lake Hippodrome was very near the medallion’s location.
