More on Woodbury Days

Woodbury Days celebrates for the whole month of August, starting with savings at Woodbury area stores and culminating with the city festival Aug. 26-28 in Ojibway Park.

Nestled in between all the fun is the Woodbury Days medallion hunt, which started Wednesday (Aug. 17) and ends when the medallion is found. The hunt is sponsored by Anchor Bank of Woodbury.

Rules to the hunt

Clues leading to the hidden 2016 Woodbury Days medallion will be revealed daily through Woodbury Days, or until the treasure is found. If the medallion isn't found by Friday, Aug. 19, more clues will resume on Monday, Aug. 22.

Visit Anchor Bank, 1920 Donegal Drive in Woodbury, to read the clue by 9 a.m. each day.

Call the Woodbury Bulletin's hotline for the medallion hunt at (651) 319-4488, where hunters may listen to a voice recording of the most current clue after 11 a.m. daily, and clues will also be posted on woodburybulletin.com at 11 a.m. each day.

How to win

The prize is $500, courtesy of Anchor Bank of Woodbury. The winner is guaranteed the first half of the prize. The second half of the prize is secured when the medallion is returned by a Woodbury Days button holder and the winner calls (651) 702-0973 to alert the Woodbury Bulletin, which typically writes a story about the medallion finder.

The Woodbury Bulletin and Anchor Bank will together present the prize. Any winner who doesn't have the Button of Savings will receive only $250 of the prize, courtesy of Anchor Bank.

Return the medallion to the bank, during weekday business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays) to claim the prize.

A few reminders we should make
The clues take a hiatus now
'Til day after praying in pews

Won't need to dig to find this treat
Seek not in water or eye high
It is hidden not underground
Do look under your tired feet

From Bob's Crazy Chemistry at shelter of a nation
To graves in a Grove, disputed birthplace of a county
A stone's throw away or 22 steps in a scurry

Required watching is "Leave It To Beaver"
Gather round to watch family TV classic
Recalling Beav's famous line to his neighbor
Helps find our gold and you'll please Mrs. Cleaver
Explanation:
The Beav's best-known line, of course, was: "Hey Mr. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllson!" "Wilson" is also the title of a soon-to-release movie partially filmed at Ridge Park in Woodbury.
Our Thoughts:
Ouch. They got the TV show wrong. The line attributed to the Beav was in fact Dennis the Menace's line.
