Woodbury Days returns Aug. 24-26, and with it comes the annual medallion hunt, co-sponsored by Edina Realty-Baden Real Estate Group and the Woodbury Bulletin.

Whoever finds the medallion will receive a prize of $200 in gift cards if they have a Woodbury Days Button of Savings, or $100 of the prize without a button. Medallion hunters are asked to call 612-327-1748 when the medallion is found. The Bulletin will feature the winner in an upcoming edition. For more information on Woodbury Days and the Button of Savings, visit www.woodburydays.com.

The first clue is printed below. Additional clues will be revealed daily through Aug. 17, and then pick up again Aug. 20 until the medallion is found. Clues will be posted 11 a.m. at woodburybulletin.com and also can be heard on the medallion hunt hotline at 651-319-4488.

New this year, the first nine clues provide a clue-within-a-clue leading hunters to a different local business each day, where the next clue will be provided early. Clue writer Mathias Baden is a Realtor at Edina Realty, former editor of the Woodbury Bulletin and a Woodbury resident.

This medallion hunt is dedicated to the previous eight finders, from 2010-2017.

Doubling as a scavenger hunt, clues were released early at various businesses throughout Woodbury. Early clue No. 2 was given out at Edina Realty.

The “Book of the World’s Wonders” was written by Marco Polo. Are you an explorer, or playing a children’s game consisting of a blind search?

Props once again to Cathy Burianek, who after seven clues discovered the medallion under a dock at Menomini Park in 2011.

The clue directly says the medallion is not hidden near a dock.

Props to Matt Koskie and Ashley Wilson of the St. Paul Winter Carnival guild of hunters called Cooler Crew, who after five clues discovered the medallion in tall weeds at Colby Lake Park in 2012.

“Ask what to do for your country” – a paraphrase to remind you of JFK. The medallion was wrapped in a photo of the President and First Lady.
